Founded in 1904, the University of Leeds is recognized worldwide for its outstanding standards in teaching and research and is a member of the Russell Group of leading UK research universities. With around 38,000 students, the University is highly international, with students from more than 170 countries. The campus is spread over 98 acres, close to the city center.

Modern campus facilities include advanced classrooms, four libraries, a state-of-the-art swimming pool and gymnasium, and a contemporary performing arts center. The University of Leeds offers a wide range of programs from English Language Foundation and International Foundation Year programs to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. The University is recognized for its graduates holding influential positions globally.

Student life is also very colorful: The Student Union is home to more than 300 clubs and societies and has twice won a gold standard award from the Student Union Assessment Initiative. The location is good for transportation: Manchester and Leeds Bradford airports are close by, and London can be reached by train in just two hours. Winner of the Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2009, 2011 and 2021.
