The University of Roehampton is located on a large, green campus in southwest London. Although it became an independent university in 2004, its origins go back to four teacher training colleges founded in the 19th century. These four colleges still exist within the university structure and every student is affiliated to them.
With students from 110 different countries, Roehampton is international, with a long history of teacher education, but also offers strong academic programs in Dance, Biological Anthropology, Drama and English Literature.
The university offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in hospitality and tourism education in collaboration with the Swiss-based Glion Institute of Higher Education. Roehampton is also active in the field of online education, providing distance learning opportunities in departments such as business and health sciences.
