About this institution

The Ideal Place for Balanced Academic and Emotional Development

Located in north London, Hendon Prep School stands out as an independent day school and pre-school for pupils aged 3 to 11. Awarded an ‘Excellent’ rating across all areas by the UK Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in 2023, the school places great emphasis on academic achievement and the emotional and social development of its pupils. With the aim of maximising every pupil’s potential, it offers a pupil-centred and inclusive learning environment. Its mission is to nurture a love of learning from an early age and to foster self-confidence.

Why Hendon Prep School?

  • It has been rated ‘Excellent’ by ISI across all areas.
  • It offers a personalised education model for children aged 3–11.
  • It supports emotional and social development as well as academic development.
  • Thanks to the small class sizes, pupils receive personalised attention.
  • It is situated in a safe and family-friendly neighbourhood of London.

Location and Campus Life

Located in the Hendon neighbourhood, Hendon Prep School offers its pupils a safe, inclusive and warm learning environment. Thanks to its small-scale structure, pupils are able to interact one-to-one with their teachers whilst growing up within a school community that feels like a close-knit family. The campus is equipped with classrooms, play areas, a pre-school section and various activity areas. The school’s location in a peaceful, green area enables children to learn whilst connecting with nature. Throughout the day, pupils enjoy an experience enriched by both academic and social activities.

Educational Programs and Academic Structure

Hendon Prep School adopts an educational approach that encourages pupils’ sense of curiosity and love of learning from a young age. It offers programmes designed to recognise and develop each child’s individual potential:

Programs:

  • Preschool (ages 3–4)
  • Primary School (Reception – Year 6)

Whilst gaining intellectual knowledge beyond their years, pupils develop skills such as creative thinking, self-discipline and self-confidence. The school’s approach aims to foster both academic excellence and the development of children into happy individuals. Lessons are delivered using interactive and play-based methods, ensuring pupils’ active participation in the learning process. In this way, pupils grow not only through acquiring knowledge, but also by learning how to learn.

Accommodation Options

Hendon Prep School is a day school; therefore, boarding facilities are not available. Pupils travel to and from school every day, and their development is supported whilst maintaining a healthy balance between home and school life. Strong communication with families creates a holistic learning experience in which pupils are supported both at home and at school. Pupil progress is continuously monitored through regular individual follow-ups and collaboration with families.

Fees (Termly)
