About this institution

Edinburgh Napier University – Scotland

Edinburgh Napier University was granted university status in June 1992 and currently has approximately 12,500 enrolled students. The campus is situated predominantly on the east side of Edinburgh and comprises a variety of buildings, ranging from historic castles to converted schools. The university is renowned for the importance it places on graduate employment, and many of its programmes include integrated work placements (internships). It has particularly strong partnerships with the Edinburgh College of Art, particularly in the field of film studies.

Thanks to international partnerships, approximately 3,000 students are studying at Napier University in countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore and India. Furthermore, through the dual degree programme run in collaboration with the State University of New York (SUNY), students have the opportunity to obtain degrees from both institutions within four years. The university is recognised for its ‘value-added’ success, which measures the academic progress students make relative to their entry levels. Furthermore, it supports employability through initiatives such as ‘Confident Futures’, which aims to equip students with the essential skills they will need in their careers.
