Marshall University is a public R2 research university located in Huntington, West Virginia, on the banks of the Ohio River, with a beautiful 358-dönüm campus. The university, which has approximately 11,300 students (of whom around 445 are international students), offers more than 120 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across faculties such as Engineering and Computer Science, Business, Pharmacy, Health Professions, Humanities and Natural Sciences.

Annual research funding exceeds $68 million. The university is home to the only Cybersecurity Institute in West Virginia; it places great emphasis on innovation and applied learning. It holds accreditations in fields such as pharmacy, nursing, computer science (ABET), athletic training and education (CAEP), emphasising high academic standards across disciplines.

The Marshall University campus combines historic buildings such as Old Main and the Memorial Student Centre with modern facilities such as the Joan C. Edwards Stadium and state-of-the-art academic buildings. Student life is vibrant, with around 300 clubs, award-winning media outlets (WMUL-FM radio, The Parthenon newspaper) and cultural events.

Marshall’s sports teams, known as the ‘Thundering Herd’, compete in the NCAA Division I (Conference USA) league in football, basketball, American football, baseball and many other sports.
